Hi human_souls of the gorgeously abstract and pleasurably chaotic! I am ecstatic to be hosting the first SMK concert curation of 2020 at a completely different venue: The eBar, a wonderful entertainment center in the heart of downtown Guelph, Ontario. It is a great sensation to be slowly spreading out to and working with more venues (expanding beyond the norm), working together to keep the live community music scene thriving.
This concert sees the return of Guelph's dream jazz chambercore string duo and lovely Peanut Gallery dear and weird friendos, standpartners, to the curation series as the special opening act. The duo is a creative eclectic force! They are mesmerizing, creating bizarre and beautiful semi-improvised soundscapes fit to escape, augment and address the ever-changing world around us. I am always wonderstruck and captivated by their fusion of Filipinx/Persian cultural music with improvisational jazz and contemporary music, with a creative ebb and flow of spirit and energy in their string work. Overjoyed to have them playing for you again 👼🎻💜
It is a pleasure to give Toronto all-female electric progressive rock string quartet, Dévah Quartet, a headlining platform to perform their music. They will be transcending the acoustic barrier into static realms of progressive expression with shattering shock-waves, gorgeous cantabile blooms and paralyzing frantic musings! The quartet is set to play the entirety of Rush's '2112' epic suite, Tool's 'Lateralus' and their own original works. Phenomenal ripples and rips will be heard by the solar federation when these priestesses command your attention 🤘
A thrilling evening of amplified strings awaits next week on Thursday March 5th!
NOTICE: The eBar will be PHYSICALLY ACCESSIBLE by the time of the concert.
